Born inSwitzerland, Shulamit began her studies for painting on porcelain at the age of 16. She studied the classic techniques for painting on porcelain used in Europe, the Meissen and Nyon styles, with two different teachers.

Other techniques she learned were the American style of painting flowers, fruits, landscapes, etc., to paint portraits, using examples from well-known paintings, and ornamental painting techniques.

In addition, she developed an unusual technique for use in her own designs, adding the sponge as an important tool.

Following her studies in painting, Shulamit received teaching credentials from the Kindergarten Seminar in Biel and taught for more than 3 years. During this time, she continued painting and it became obvious that the art of painting on porcelain would be her preferred occupation.

But in reality, Shulamit's emphasis was on working in and developing additional techniques for painting on porcelain. Later, she combined her professions and, prior to immigrating to Israel, taught porcelain painting for 8 years in Switzerland. There she also sold much of her work and exhibited at art exhibitions, i.e., The Kunst (Art) Museum in Bern, at the Besonderes Schaffen (Special Crafts) Exhibition in Interlaken , among others.

Following immigration to Israel , she began to teach classes in Painting on Porcelain and has been teaching for about 4 years.
